WABetaInfo reports that a shortcut to swiftly make a call link will be included in the new call menu.

In preparation for a future app upgrade, Meta-owned messaging program WhatsApp is now working on a revamped call menu feature for conversations and groups.
WABetaInfo took to X to inform that some beta testers had access to a call link functionality in both solo and group chat.
This feature makes it easier to start voice or video calls by enabling users to easily generate call links straight from the chat interface.
It further stated that the chat attachment sheet, which can be accessed by tapping the attachment icon in the conversation bar, now has the new call link shortcut.
According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is reportedly creating new features to further improve user comfort, especially by making calling tools more accessible.
The Meta-owned app is looking into adding a feature that will rework the call option in the top app bar for both group and individual chats.
At the moment, customers can make phone calls using the first button and start video calls using the second button. Unintentional calls may occasionally occur because when a user touches on one of these buttons, the associated call action is promptly carried out.
Users will have more flexibility in managing their calls, particularly in group chats, thanks to WhatsApp’s plans to unify the call buttons into a single menu that offers more tools than just making voice and video calls. The new call menu will also feature a shortcut to quickly create a call link, enabling users to create and share call links without opening the attachment menu or the calls tab.
An additional layer of confirmation will be added before the call starts with the new menu, which requires customers to first choose their desired call choice. Because it lessens the possibility of inadvertently calling a contact or group, this minimises accidental calls and improves the user experience overall.
