A woman in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, is accused of killing a man by strangulation while having sex with him. She told police that Iqbal had been blackmailing her into having sex and that she had no other option. The 32-year-old woman was arrested yesterday, two days after Iqbal’s body was discovered close to his house.
Iqbal was a Zari Zardosi craftsman who visited houses in her village, the woman informed the authorities. They swapped numbers and became acquainted in this way. They would frequently speak on the phone. Iqbal invited her to come see him at his house one day. According to the woman, Iqbal coerced her into having sex with him. Iqbal threatened to damage her house and claimed to have phone recordings when she threatened to tell her husband.
“I put up with this because I have small children. He repeatedly used blackmail to force him to get physical. I had had enough of this. Iqbal went to leave his wife off at her parents’ house on Wednesday. According to a police statement, she claimed, “I told him I wanted to meet when we spoke on his way back.”
To put her husband to sleep, Iqbal handed the woman two tablets. “I served my spouse tea at about 8:00 p.m. I had filled his cup with the pills. He browsed his phone and fell asleep shortly after. Iqbal invited me to come over when we spoke on the phone at approximately 11.40 p.m. “He claimed to be by himself at home,” she stated.

He began to become intimate with me as we were conversing. I sat on his chest while holding his hands apart. I then choked him with one hand while maintaining the other over his lips. I hauled his body to the stairway and went home once I was certain he was dead. Iqbal really irritated me. According to the police statement, she stated, “I wanted to protect my family, so I had no other choice.”
