The Recruit’s second season debuted on Netflix on Thursday, January 30, after more than two years of waiting. Throughout the season, Noah Centineo‘s character, CIA lawyer Owen Hendricks, was involved in yet another adventure that took him to Korea and put him in danger multiple times. Hendricks accomplished his goal in the second season finale, but that did not mean that there would be no more stories. Actually, Alexi Hawley, the creator of the series, has a number of ideas for Season 3. Although Netflix has not yet renewed The Recruit for Season 3, Hawley’s analysis of the circumstances suggests a promising outcome. When asked if the writers have begun revealing plot points for the upcoming season, the multihyphenate told Deadline, “We’re waiting for Netflix to officially do their thing with it.” He gave the following explanation for his belief that Season 3 will air:
“I think Netflix has a lot of positive feelings about the program and about Noah; they consider him to be a homegrown star, which he is. I’m feeling really good about it, as good as you can feel right now in this town.”

The destiny of Max’s (Laura Haddock) daughter, Nichka (Maddie Hasson), was one of the many unresolved issues from the second season finale. “I’m still seeing Nichka. Regarding Maddie, Hawley remarked, “I think she’s fantastic; I love her.” “I would love to see Nichka return in whatever capacity since I think she is incredibly Owen in her chaos agent persona. He continued, hinting that Nichka might make an appearance in the seasons, saying, “I don’t know where it goes yet in my head, but I never want to say never.”
Relationships, no matter how twisted or lovely, are what The Recruit lives on. Because a single phone call has the power to alter these connections, Owen must handle them cautiously. After Dodge’s (Jesse Collin) uncertain future and Dawn’s (Angel Parker) death, Lester (Colton Dunn) is held accountable for betraying Owen. Regarding examining the consequences of Season 2, Hawley stated, “There are a lot of complications, which will be brought in to Season 3, hopefully.” There are also a lot of unanswered questions regarding who might return for Season 3, such as Owen’s former Korean flame or Janus’ unexpected lover.
The majority of Season 2 was set in Korea, which was a pleasant diversion for both the cast and the audience. “It would be definitely nice [to film abroad],” Hawley responded when asked if Season 3 would be set in a foreign nation. “I still don’t know exactly where I want to go. We’ve done Korea and Russia, I believe. Africa and Latin America might therefore be fascinating. For a variety of reasons, American audiences aren’t frequently exposed to Africa in our narratives, but I believe it would be fascinating,” he continued.
The Recruit’s first two seasons are available on Netflix, but the third season is awaiting renewal. For more information on the third season, keep checking Collider.
