Day 3 box office receipts for Marco: The Haneef Adeni-directed film allegedly brought in Rs 5.25 Cr in India on Day 3, bringing its total global earnings to Rs 35 Cr, according to the film’s producers.

With its most recent project, Marco, starring Unni Mukundan, breaking box office records for an A-rated movie from the industry, the Malayalam film industry may be considering approving more violent action films.
The Haneef Adeni-directed picture had already made about Rs 9 Cr in its first two days and went one step further, earning Rs 5.25 Cr on Day 3 from Indian markets to complete its first weekend with an incredible Rs 14.20 Cr, the highest amount ever made by a Malayalam action movie.
Day 3 box office receipts for Marco continue to rise.
With its ruthless violence, Marco—dubbed the most violent action movie ever made in Malayalam—performed better at the box office than all of its rivals, including Vijay Sethupathi’s Viduthalai: Part 2, Suraj Venjaramoodu’s Extra Decent, and Aashiq Abu’s Rifle Club.
Marco has made Rs 35 Cr worldwide, up Rs 14 Cr on Sunday alone, according to sources from the film’s crew. The film is presently showing in theatres throughout the Middle East and Australia.
According to industry trackers Sacnilk, the movie had an average theatre occupancy of 78% on Sunday, which is encouraging, particularly for a violent movie on a weekend. Given that the early moviegoers are males between the ages of 18 and 35, it remains to be seen if Marco can maintain the momentum during Christmas week.
With the Hindi version of the movie earning a respectable Rs 11 lakh out of the total Rs 96 lakh on Sunday, Marco has also made Rs 2.22 Cr from the rest of India’s market.
