“The Radical Democrats have lost another pathetic, unAmerican Witch Hunt,” Republican Donald Trump said in a jab at opposition Democrats.

In his landmark hush money case, US President Donald Trump received a sentence of “unconditional discharge” or no punishment. While praising the decision, Trump referred to the accusations against him as “baseless, illegal, and fake.”
With the statement, “The Radical Democrats have lost another pathetic, unAmerican Witch Hunt,” Trump, a Republican, attacked the Democrats.
For felony convictions, the most recent verdict is unusual. Trump can now return to the White House without worrying about facing a jail sentence or a fine according to the ruling.
A judge determined Friday that Trump will not be imprisoned or subject to any other punishment for his criminal conviction related to hush money paid to a porn star, but that the jury finding would not be overturned by Trump’s inauguration on January 20.
As of right now, Trump will be the first president to assume office with a felony conviction.
Trump’s response to his punishment in the hush money case was as follows:
“The Radical Democrats have lost another pathetic, unAmerican Witch Hunt,” Donald Trump said in a lengthy statement on the Truth Social site.
“I was given a UNCONDITIONAL DISCHARGE after spending tens of millions of dollars, wasting over six years of obsessive work that might have been used to protect New Yorkers from violent, rampant crime that is destroying the City and State, coordinating with the Biden/Harris Department of Injustice in lawless Weaponization, and bringing completely baseless, illegal, and fake charges against your 45th and 47th President, ME,” Trump stated.
“As all Legal Scholars and Experts have said, THERE IS NO CASE, THERE WAS NEVER A CASE, and this whole Scam fully deserves to be DISMISSED,” the US President-elect stated, citing the “unconditional discharge” outcome as proof.
“The American people, the true jury, have spoken,” he declared, “by re-electing me with a resounding mandate in one of the most important elections in history.”
“This “case” had no crime, no damages, no proof, no facts, no law, as the American people have seen, only a highly conflicted judge, a star witness who is a disbarred, disgraced, serial perjurer, and criminal election interference,” Trump stated.
“Now that it’s over, we will appeal this hoax, which has no merit, and rebuild Americans’ faith in our once great System of Justice,” he continued. “Today’s event was a vile charade.” “RESTORE GREATNESS IN AMERICA!”
A PAYMENT OF $130,000
In March 2023, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, a Democrat, accused Trump, a Republican, of 34 counts of falsifying business records to conceal the $130,000 payment made to adult film star Stormy Daniels by his former attorney Michael Cohen for her silence prior to the 2016 election regarding an alleged sexual encounter she had with Trump, which she denied.
On May 30, the Manhattan jury convicted Trump on all 34 counts. The case, according to the prosecution, was about an attempt to taint the 2016 election, regardless of how tawdry the accusations were.
Trump was accused of trying to rescind his 2020 election defeat and keeping classified papers after leaving the White House, but the hush money case was generally seen as less serious than the three other criminal matters he was involved in. In every case, Trump entered a not guilty plea.
