The Islamabad High Court has witnessed the swearing-in of two new judges, Justice Muhammad Azam Khan and Justice Raja Inam Amin Minhas.
Chief Justice Aamer Farooq gave the new judges their oath during the swearing-in event, which was held at the Islamabad High Court.
Justices Muhammad Azam Khan and Raja Inam Amin Munir formally assumed their positions as judges of the Islamabad High Court after taking the oath of office.
A fresh roster has been released following the induction of the two new judges. Ten single seats and five division benches will be active beginning this week.
The revised roster states that a division bench would be composed of Chief Justice Aamer Farooq, Justice Inam Amin Munir, Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiani, and Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan.
Justice Tariq Jahangiri and Justice Azam Khan, Justice Babar Sattar and Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir, and Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb and Justice Summaira Rafat Imtiaz will sit on the other division benches.
To propose nine more justices to the Peshawar High Court (PHC), the Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) will reconvene on February 1. Yahya Afridi, the Chief Justice of Pakistan, will preside over the meeting, which will take place in the Supreme Court building in Islamabad.
Sources claim that 40 names in all have been submitted to the JCP for review.
Four district and session judges—Kaleem Arshad Khan, Farrukh Jamshed, Inaamullah Khan, and Sophia Waqar Khattak—are listed among them.
Legal professionals such as Abdul Fayyaz, Kaleem Khan, Aamir Javed, Atif Ali Khan, Aurangzeb, Bakht Jamal Khan, Basharat Khan, Bilal Ahmed Durrani, Ghulam Muhammad Sipal, Junaid Anwar, Kausar Ali Shah, and Mansoor Tariq will have their names taken into consideration for nomination to the PHC.
Muhammad Ali Khan, Muhammad Bashar Naveed, Muhammad Habib Qureshi, Inam Khan, Ikram Khan, Muhammad Javed Khan, Muhammad Rafiq, Muhammad Tariq Afridi, Mukhtar Ahmed Muniri, Nasir Mahmood, Nauman Haq, Qazi Babar Irshad, and Qazi Jawad Ehsanullah are the other individuals on the list.
