The M3 chip, which powers the most recent iteration of Apple’s iPad Air, offers improved performance and artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities.
The price of the new iPad Air is $599 for the 11-inch model and $799 for the 13-inch variant. On March 4, 2025, pre-orders went live, and on March 12, the product will be available in-store.
Key Features:
M3 processor: Compared to the M1 model, Apple claims up to forty percent better graphics performance and up to thirty-five percent quicker multithreaded CPU performance thanks to the M3 processor. This improvement is especially helpful for tasks like gaming, 3D design, and video editing.
AI Capabilities: The new iPad Air was designed with AI integration in mind. It supports Apple Intelligence capabilities like the Image Wand in Notes, which turns doodles into images, the Clean Up tool in Photos, which removes unnecessary materials, and natural language search. Furthermore, ChatGPT has been integrated into Siri to help with tasks like creating emails and messages, making it more conversational and context-aware.
Magic Keyboard: A redesigned Magic Keyboard with a larger trackpad and a 14-key function row for easy access to settings is compatible with the iPad Air. It connects through the Smart Connector and is magnetically attached. The keyboard comes in white and costs $269 for the 11-inch size and $319 for the 13-inch model.
Apple Pencil Pro: The upgraded Apple Pencil Pro boasts a gyroscope for accurate control of brush and pen tools, a customisable squeeze mechanism for fast tool switching, and a pressure-sensitive tip for dynamic line weight and shading. In case the stylus becomes lost, its Find My feature helps customers find it.
In order to optimise it for video chats, the iPad Air now places its front-facing Ultra-Wide 12MP camera along the landscape border. Additionally, Wi-Fi 6E, which provides up to double the performance of the previous generation, is supported, and cellular models come with 5G connectivity for quicker on-the-go internet access.
Sustainability:
With the new iPad Air, Apple demonstrates its dedication to sustainability by using 100% recycled aluminium for the enclosure, 100% recycled rare earth elements for all of the magnets, and 100% recycled tin soldering and gold plating on several printed circuit boards.
With these improvements, the new iPad Air seeks to give consumers a strong and adaptable tablet experience that meets their needs for creativity and work.
