
A World Water Forum focus group was informed on Friday that Saudi Arabia has effectively developed an integrated and sustainable strategy for water security, despite the country’s harsh desert climate.
The Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture informed stakeholders in Indonesia that the accomplishment, which was fuelled by large investments in desalination and a vast water network, has guaranteed a dependable water supply for the populace as well as important economic sectors.
Speaking at the World Water Forum’s global conversation session “From Bali to Riyadh and Beyond,” which was held in Jakarta on Thursday and Friday, Deputy Minister for Water Abdulaziz Al-Shaibani emphasised the Kingdom’s initiatives.
The meeting examined the results of the 10th World Water Forum, which brought together leaders, ministers, and officials from 160 nations in Bali in May 2024.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, Al-Shaibani stressed that Saudi Arabia’s advanced water infrastructure was evidence of its leadership’s vision and dedication to sustainable development.
Recognising water as a vital pillar of stability and growth, he called for increased international cooperation to address the world’s water problems and create creative, sustainable solutions.
According to Al-Shaibani, Saudi Arabia valued information exchange via forums like the World Water Forum in order to address global water scarcity.
