LAHORE- At Allama Iqbal International Airport (LHE) in Lahore, Pakistan, a passenger on a Qatar Airways (QR) flight was offloaded after the Airport Security Force (ASF) found thirteen 9mm rounds in his laptop bag while conducting a normal screening.
The passenger was quickly taken into custody and sent to the Sarwar Road Police Station. He was identified as Shan Sadiq, a resident of Walton.
An Employee of Qatar Airways was Arrested
The First Information Report (FIR) said that Sadiq was unable to produce a legitimate licence for the rounds. He said the ammo was accidentally left in his laptop bag after being bought under his father’s licensed arms.
At the time of the event, Sadiq was on aircraft QR621 to Doha (DOH), where he works as a traffic assistant for Qatar Airways in Doha.
Prior to the bullets being found during a final security screening, Sadiq had successfully cleared immigration and early ASF security checks, according to investigative details.
Citing unlawful ammunition possession, authorities filed a complaint against him under Section 13-2a of the 1965 Arms Act.
Sarwar Road Police has been tasked with conducting a thorough inquiry into the case.
Update: After presenting legitimate licenses to authorities, a Qatar Airways employee was later allowed to board the aircraft.
