Bhandara blast: Five kilometres away, people could hear the boom due to its extreme strength.

Mumbai: Eight workers were killed and seven injured after a huge explosion tore through an ammunition facility close to Nagpur this morning. The explosion took place in Maharashtra’s Bhandara district. During a midday event, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari announced the deaths.
“A serious accident has occurred at the ordnance factory in Bhandara, leaving eight persons dead and seven injured. The minister remarked, “This is preliminary information,” and asked everyone to observe a minute of silence in remembrance of those who died in the “unfortunate incident.”
According to what District Collector Sanjay Kolte has previously stated, the explosion happened in the factory’s LTP area at around 10.30 am. Medical personnel and firefighters arrived on the spot to control the situation.
More than a dozen workers were trapped as the ceiling collapsed as a result. Three were saved alive during the first attempts, while one was discovered dead. According to the senior official, the rubble was removed using an excavator.
The detonation was so loud that anyone five km distant could hear it. A video taken from a distance showed a dense cloud of smoke billowing from the factory.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had previously stated that rescue teams from Nagpur were on their way to the bomb site and that key authorities were present. He had also promised that medical teams were there to assist if necessary.
